The Ruth Clark Perry Papers are a composite of handwritten mathematical notes for the classes in which she taught while a professor at the University of Chattanooga. These classes include Advanced Calculus, Calculus, Geometry, and Theory of Numbers. Ruth Clark Perry was professor (1922-1955) and Head, Math Department and Dean of Women (1922-1952), University of Chattanooga. Her collection contains extensive handwritten notes of calculus textbooks which may have been subsequently used as an outline for courses in calculus.

Ruth Clark Perry was a mathematics professor at the University of Chattanooga, where she had been a member of the faculty for 33 years (1922-1955). She was born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Lewis S. Perry and Mrs. Alice Clark Perry. Her family moved to Chattanooga while she was young, where she received her elementary education.
